15 Insider Tips For Your Stay At Beaches Turks & Caicos

| |

Beaches Turks & Caicos, the fabulous all-inclusive resort set on Grace Bay gets our vote for one of the BEST family-friendly resorts for so many reasons! From the dazzling Caribbean Sea greeting you, to the incredible variety of restaurants, the largest waterpark in the Caribbean and the range of activities included in your stay here (everything from kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling, scuba, chocolate buffets, live entertainment and so much more), there really is something for everyone at Beaches Turks & Caicos. We’ve been lucky enough to visit this resort twice and here are the top tips that I share with my clients before their visit:

1. Start your morning with a stop at Cafe de Paris! This adorable coffee shop in the French Village has iced coffee, lattes, hot tea and a selection of pastries, cookies and desserts.

Here you can say “bonjour” to a sweet morning treat!

2. Book Restaurant Reservations:  There are a few that require reservations and your concierge team at your village can help get you lined out for the week when you arrive on property. Kimono’s is also a must-do with teppanyaki cooking and amazing, interactive chefs and I also recommend breakfast (family-friendly) or dinner (adults-only) at Sky!

3. The Pirate’s Island Waterpark is kid paradise!  From the surf simulator, lazy river, waterslides and even a swim up smoothie bar, there are endless ways to enjoy your day here. Plenty of cabanas and towels can be found in this area if you need some shade or a spot to read your favorite book.

The largest waterpark in the Caribbean has something for everyone!

4. Speaking of Pirate’s Island, make sure you pick up a frozen yogurt or shake from the Curls and Swirls truck near the waterpark.

5. AND grab some mac & cheese from Mr. Mac featuring a range of combos from cheeseburger mac, taco mac and more!

Menu includes chocolate cookie dough fudge and key lime pie milkshakes and several frozen yogurt flavors

Our favorites were the Blazin’ Buffalo and the Philly Cheese Steak mac.

6. Stop by Bobby Dee’s, the fabulously themed 50’s diner, and have your kids ask for a cotton candy.

Bobbi Dee’s has everything from burgers and wings to milkshakes and sundaes.

7. If you love to be active on vacation, the resort offers abs classes, yoga, power walking, Tabata bootcamp, Zumba and aqua fitness. Check the activity calendar for times. The resort has two fitness facilities and they provide water and chilled towels. There is also an outdoor gym at the Red Lane Spa near the French Village.

I loved working out in their outdoor gym and enjoying fresh coconut water post-yoga on the beach.

8. Take advantage of free tennis lessons available on certain mornings for all ages and abilities.

Mark from the Philippines was an terrific tennis coach! We learned so much from him.

9. Sign up for a snorkeling cruise or glass bottom boat tour the day before!  It’s included with your stay.

10. Snorkel near the resort! You can borrow fins and a mask at any point from the activity center near the pier.  When standing on the beach facing the ocean, take a left and walk westbound on the beach to access Bight Reef at Coral Gardens  It’s a 10-minute walk down the beach to a protected reef.  Look for the signs and a roped off area. You can snorkel the edges of the rope line-but the interior is protected. We saw turtles, puffer fish and lots of beautiful tropical fish just a few yards off shore.

I could stare at this water all day long, and I did!

11. Are you into SCUBA? Unlimited diving for certified scuba divers is INCLUDED with your stay, plus full PADI or NAUI scuba dive certification is available.

Dwayne from Beaches was our amazing guide.

12. Love sushi?  Head to Soy for an appetizer before dinner!  Bayside Restaurant in Key West Village also has made to order sushi.

13. Enjoy breakfast with your toes in the sand at Barefoot by the Sea in the Italian Village.

Try the Caribbean Shrimp & Crab Omelet for breakfast and the fresh conch salad or fish tacos for lunch!

14. Need an adults only vibe?  Head to the Key West pool overlooking the beach with poolside drink service and definitely take in the Grace Bay vistas from Sky Lounge on the rooftop!   Also, be sure and check out the resort activity calendar to partake in the weekly wine and cheese tasting, late night chocolate buffet & martinis.

The Key West Pool is a quieter option at Beaches Turks & Caicos.

15. Plan an excursion to see the surrounding islands. You can snorkel, jump off a ship wreck, go bone fishing, dive for conch, hunt for seashells, go whale watching and so much more! *Bonus Tip: Stop for a picture by the “I Wish I Could Stay Here Forever” tree.

**Second bonus tip! Beaches Turks and Caicos provides the ultimate backdrop for a family photo session. You can arrange for one of the resorts photographer to meet you at a designated time. Pick a morning slot on the beach for the best light and to really show off that turquoise water.
