All The Early Entry Details For Disneyland Resort

|

Is staying “on site” to get access to Early Entry at Disneyland worth it?  Based on our last trip, I would say definitely yes!  Here is everything you need to know about this amazing benefit for guests visiting the Disneyland Resort.

What Is Early Entry?

Early Entry is a perk offered to guests staying at one of the three on site Disneyland Resort Hotels (Disneyland Hotel & Villas, Disney’s Grand Californian and Pixar Place Hotel) that gets you 30 minutes early access to select attractions, dining and shopping at either Disneyland or California Adventure on specific mornings.

For Disneyland, Early Entry is offered on: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

For California Adventure, Early Entry is offered on: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

How Does It Work?

To take advantage of this benefit, you will need: a valid theme park ticket, park reservation and proof of your hotel reservation (room key or vacation package confirmation on your Disneyland app works). If staying at Disneyland Hotel & Villas or Pixar Place Hotel, you will first go through the west end Downtown Disney security point. If staying at the Grand Californian, you will use the Downtown Disney security point near the Brisa Courtyard. Based on our recent experience with an official park opening time of 8:00 am, security opened right at 7:00 am. I recommend being in the security line no later than 6:30 am. You will then head to the main gates of either Disneyland or California Adventure and scan in using your tickets linked to your app or on your MagicBand+. Gates were open close to 7:15 am and off site guests are able to go through security and enter the main gates at the same time, but won’t have access to the attractions until the park officially opens. *Pro tip: remember, once you have scanned your park tickets, you are able to begin making your first Lightning Lane and Individual Lightning Lane reservations through the Genie+ service.

Once you are admitted into the parks, you will head to designated Early Entry areas within Disneyland and California Adventure and look for the Hotel Guests Early Entry Sign near the attraction you want to visit first and here is where you look for the cast member with a card reader so you can sign in with your hotel key and be on your way to board your first attraction. Ropes will be up to limit access to the attractions beyond for off site guests.

From Disneyland’s website: “All offerings may vary and are subject to restrictions, change or cancellation without notice, and not guaranteed. To learn about any closures or long-term refurbishments, please check for the latest details about attractions, dining and shopping at Disneyland.com or via the Disneyland app.”

During our recent stay and before the park officially opened, we were able to hit two headliners at California Adventure and had walked on to four attractions at Disneyland. It was so fun and set us up for the best park days. And FYI, touring plans are a complimentary service I provide to my clients and I would love to help you strategize on the best way to plan your day to take full advantage of everything there is to experience and avoid waiting in long lines. Also, if you’re not staying at one of the three onsite Disneyland Resort hotels, not to worry as I can help you with the best way to tour and make the most of your park days, too!
