Saint Lucia Helicopter Transfer Details

|

Saint Lucia is known as the Hawaii of the Caribbean offering volcanic mountains with breathtaking views, lush tropical rainforests, waterfalls, volcanic hot springs and pristine beaches. While I can’t recommend this amazing Caribbean island enough, there is one downside to their beautiful landscape: the associated road system can be narrow, windy and steep. And as many of the popular resorts are an hour plus drive from main international airport, traveling to or from your resort can dampen your vacation if you’re prone to motion sickness.

I have good news to share as there are other transfer options! During my recent visit to Saint Lucia I was able to avoid the long car ride by starting my vacation in style with a gorgeous ferry ride up the coastline and then wrapped up my trip with breathtaking aerial views of the island, both of which avoided the long car ride.

Did you know Saint Lucia offers scenic helicopter transfers that provide a fast, luxurious, and unforgettable way to travel between the island’s major points of interest, such as Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) in the south and George F.L. Charles Airport (SLU) in the north, or between resorts and popular tourist destinations near Castries? These transfers are operated by reputable tour companies and are an excellent option for honeymooners, luxury travelers, or anyone wanting a truly memorable start or end to their visit to Saint Lucia.

What to Expect:

You’ll be met either at the airport or at the resort (depending on if its an arrival or departure day) for a short transfer to the helicopter terminal. Here you will show your identification and the flight can accompany up to six guests (the flight can be shared with other travelers). You are allowed one small sized carry one and one personal item. Your remaining luggage will be transported via road to or from the resort, so make sure you have what you need with you until reunited with your luggage (passports, medications, etc). Booking your helicopter transfer gets you access to:

  • Stunning Views: During the flight, you’ll enjoy impressive aerial views of the island’s diverse landscapes, including the majestic Pitons, lush rainforests, sparkling coastlines, and picturesque towns.
  • Efficient Travel Time: The transfer significantly reduces travel time compared to driving along the island’s winding roads, typically taking 10–15 minutes instead of 1.5–2 hours by car.
  • Comfort and Convenience: Helicopter transfers are particularly appealing for those seeking a seamless and unique arrival or departure experience.
  • Photography Opportunities: Passengers are encouraged to bring cameras to capture the picturesque scenery from above.

We loved the views of the island during our short flight over Saint Lucia and avoiding the long drive was a major bonus. Are you interested in visiting this gorgeous island?
